AI Scan — snap it into listenable prose

Read every page
with your eyes and ears.

Snap a textbook or past exam and YOM reads it aloud while you follow the text on screen. Decoding the words is offloaded to AI — you stay on understanding and remembering. A read-aloud app built for study.

Cloud AI refine works on any device, offline option too / Camera, web articles & text / Read-aloud & translation in 7 languages

The YOM app refining photographed study material with AI and reading it aloud

Sound familiar?

You read it — but it doesn’t stick.

The words slide past

Your eyes move across the page, but nothing sinks in. All you accumulate is the feeling of having “read” it.

You reread the same line

Dense passages stop you, send you back, and stop you again — until focus is gone and only drowsiness is left.

Thick material never gets finished

Hundreds of pages of textbooks and past exams — you stall long before the last page.

Every review pass wears you out

Retention takes repetition, but each reread costs the same time and focus as the first.

Three simple steps

Snap → AI refines → Read with eyes and ears.

1

Snap a photo

Photograph any textbook or past exam and OCR turns it into text — scan multiple pages in one go.

2

AI makes it listenable

AI Scan understands the OCR result, strips typos, broken lines, and figure/table fragments, and rewrites it into natural prose you can follow by ear.

3

Read with eyes and ears

Follow the text on screen while high-quality AI voice reads it. The narration keeps your pace steady — no skimming, no backtracking. Spare moments become review time.

Strategy covers business strategy, law, and accounting. It centers on memorizing katakana, meaning loanword terminology.

In business strategy frameworks, SWOT analysis is a two by two matrix of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. PPM classifies businesses into “Star,” “Cash Cow,” “Problem Child,” and “Dog” by market growth rate and market share. The 3C framework is Customer, Competitor, and Company. The 5 Forces include rivalry within the industry, new entrants, substitutes, buyers, and suppliers. The value chain looks for the sources of added value across primary activities plus support activities. When you consider how these analyses relate, 3C and the 5 Forces are external analysis, SWOT covers both internal and external analysis, and the value chain is internal analysis.

For marketing and intellectual property, the 4P framework viewed from the seller is Product, Price, Place, and Promotion. The 4C framework viewed from the buyer is Customer Value, Cost, Convenience, and Communication. STP is Segmentation, then Targeting, then Positioning.

In law, different acts protect different kinds of things. Under the Copyright Act, it protects programs and works in general, following the no-formality principle. Under the Patent Act, it protects inventions that use the laws of nature, with a term of twenty years. Under the Design Act, it protects the design of an article for twenty-five years. Under the Trademark Act, it protects marks for goods and services, which are semi-permanent through renewal. The Unfair Competition Prevention Act protects trade secrets, requiring secrecy management, usefulness, and non-public nature. A contrast that appears frequently is that software falls under the Copyright Act, while business-model patents fall under the Patent Act.

For contracts and accounting, a contract for work, also called ukeoi, involves promises of completion, with command authority on the contractor side. There is also quasi-mandate, called jun-inin, where there is no obligation to complete, such as in SES. Worker dispatch, called haken, means the client directs the work. For accounting relationships, operating profit equals gross profit minus SG&A expenses. ROE equals net income divided by shareholders’ equity. The current ratio equals current assets divided by current liabilities, and a current ratio of two hundred percent or above is considered healthy.

Features

Two standouts built for eyes-and-ears reading.

AI Scan refine

Raw OCR text sounds broken when read aloud. AI Scan understands the content and rewrites it into natural prose you can follow by ear — text and voice line up, and that is what makes parallel reading work.

Camera scan × Scan & Listen

Snap a page and narration starts. The steady pace becomes a reading pacemaker, so your study keeps moving even when your hands stop. Handles vertical and horizontal layouts; figures and tables are auto-excluded from narration.

Repeat playback

Loop the chapters you need, page by page. Every pass makes it more your own.

Adjustable speed

0.5×–2.0×. Slow for first reads, fast for review.

Study tracking

Rings for listening time and characters read, plus a habit calendar — see the daily stack grow.

And more — web articles, text & screenshots / translation / read-aloud & translation in 7 languages / offline playback supported

Who it’s for

For everyone who can’t get through the page.

Exam & certification candidates

Turn “I read it but nothing stuck” into “I read it through with my eyes and ears — and remember it.” Snap thick references and past exams, read along, and repeat until it holds.

See how it works for exam study

Students

Snap lecture handouts and textbooks straight into audio.

Working learners

Keep material moving forward even on days you can’t sit at a desk.

Researchers & professionals

Close-read dense papers and technical documents at a steady pace.

Language learners

Read-aloud & translation in 7 languages — eyes on the text, ears on the voice.

Anyone resting their eyes

Let your ears carry the text when print is hard on your eyes.

Fast & smooth

Listen the moment you scan.

OCR runs instantly on-device. Thanks to the Scan & Listen design where capture and playback run in parallel, narration keeps going even while you photograph the next page.
